college
It’s been almost a year since we turned over our tassel
We said our goodbyes and left high school hassle
We packed up our stuff and were off on our track
Just wondering how soon we’d want to go back
We moved into our dorms the size of a closet
And watched as brown water fell from our faucet
We mozied around and sat on our asses
Then realized we don’t have a week until classes
We cracked open some beers and drank all our liquor
As if it were a contest on who could get sicker
We awoke in the morning with aches pains and sores
Just wondering what happened that whole night before
Some drank for a first “the beast” in a can
So we thought to ourselves let’s do it again
But it was time to settle ‘cuz classes start soon
Which we forgot when we scheduled that early was noon
We go buy our books and spend 300 bucks
And sit there in awe thinking damn, what the fuck
Our lectures begin and our mind’s fill with bore
But were proud ‘cuz this week we missed only four
We’re the age group who bitches when we don’t sleep in late
And the same who don’t miss a sunrise tailgate
We flip cupped and toasted to a great morning high
Then went to the field to watch Agim Shabaj
It’s the time of our lives and we can’t help but smile
Because last night you received a Tuesday drunk dial
The weeks were a blur which we hardly remember
Where did the time go it was already December
Finals were here as our bodies grew fear
Our books were cracked open for the first time this year
But the week soon ended and the stress was all gone
So we huddled around and all hit the bong
Break time was upon us as we hung with old friends
But it wasn’t the same and we wished it would end
Home had all changed as we felt like a guest
Even in our own bed the spot where we rest
We wanted to go back to the parties and funs
With the late night excitement of those favorite bun runs
The winter grew cold as we tried to get warm
And figured the trick was a keg in the dorm
Some braved it outside as they froze off their ass
We laughed from the windows while skipping our class
We cheered on our boys for Shannon and Mo
And watched at the Breslin the Paul Davis show
The countdowns began to fun in the sun
Some tried the sit-ups and others would run
Spring breakers were off to their tropical sand
And others went home and fake baked their tan
When we all returned we told all our tales
About who got on who and who went to jail
I hate to inform all but the present day’s here
It’s time to go soon as we all shed a tear
It’s only a few months when we’re all apart
And for the first time in our lives we’ll want school to start
But live up the summer that’s what it’s about
Come fall we’ll see friends that we can’t live without!
